Drink: A Banana, Raspberry, Pineapple and Milk smoothie
A little different…
Amy’s smoothie this week is a mix of dairy and fruit! This slightly more unusual smoothie is jam-packed full of vitamins and minerals. It has a thick consistency and a creamy taste. So here’s the recipe!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 a pineapple (chopped quite small)
- 150g of raspberries
- 1 small banana
- A splash of milk
Then just…
Blitz the pineapple and raspberries together until smooth. Chop up the banana and add, along with a little milk, for creaminess. Blend until smooth.
The Benefits
Raspberries: contain Vitamin C, which is good for the complexion – in fact, they include more then Oranges! They also contain dietary fibre, which helps the bowel function and also help people with diabetes manage their blood sugar level. Oh, and they taste great as well!
Pineapples: are overflowing with Vitamin C! There is also a fair amount of Copper in Pineapples, which helps with the creation of red blood cells in the body.
Bananas: are full of potassium and low in salt. They can lower your blood pressure and help combat depression. Eat a couple of bananas before doing exercise to get a burst of energy and to stop leg cramps.
Milk: contains Calcium, which is good for the bones and teeth.
Simple! A freshly blended drink with a tangy taste.
