Journey 10: 27 mile cycle ride
Our 500 mile challenge aims to use a variety of non-motorised transport. So far, we’ve walked most of the mileage that we’ve clocked up but this time we cycled. Peak Cycle Hire kindly supported us by lending us four bikes for our trip. They are based in Ashbourne on the Tissington Trail, which is the route we took. Leaving Ashbourne on a cold, misty morning we set off on the 13 1/2 mile journey along the flat, traffic-free path through the Peak District to Parsley Hay and then pedalled back.
So we’ve nibbled off another 27 miles and passed the 100 miles marker! One fifth of our target has been reached, with each mile that we do raising money for Tree Aid Africa and Tizhza Village in Morocco.
This journey was completed as part of our 500 Fresh Air Miles Challenge. Please help us raise money by donating on our Just Giving page.
