Learning about kites
Kids flying kites in the park or on the beach may have been a common sight in the past but fewer and fewer children seem to own a kite nowadays. Ella got a kite for her birthday. It is a foil kite, similar to those used by kite surfers, but aimed at children and beginners. She has taken her kite out on a few occasions and loved the thrill of seeing it flying in the sky above her, particularly on the windier days.
We challenged her and Amy to produce a video for others, explaining how the kite works. They researched the theories, watched videos about how the wing of an aeroplane works and applied their knowledge to the context to produce an impressive video explaining it:
