The Aldi Action Camera
We were lucky enough to get our hands on two Aldi Action Cameras earlier this week, and didn’t waste any time in getting them charged up and into the outdoors to give them a robust road-test. And what better way to do so than by taking them out on a Meekroadventure while we were up in the lovely Lake District.
Here’s what we got up to:
With a specification rivalling one of its more expensive counter parts, and an accessory pack containing helmet mount, waterproof casing and even micro SD card, you’d expect to pay a lot more than the £29.99 Special Buy price that this camera is retailing at. And it even comes with a 3 year warranty.
If you are looking for a camera to take away with you on your holidays, weekend adventures or travels, one that you (or your kids) can use without the worry of losing or breaking an expensive piece of kit, then the Action Cam is well worth considering.
NB. I (accidentally) fired a rubber-ended archery arrow at one of the cameras – it was a direct hit full onto the waterproof plastic casing; a shot that even William Tell would have been proud of. No, I wasn’t trying to deliberately destroy the camera Jeremy Clarkson-style, I was simply trying to get an interesting clip of the arrow passing close to the camera. Honest! Anyway, the casing survived, as too did the camera and the footage, so no harm done – literally.
Next time we hope to take the Action Cam up a mountain and then maybe even underwater.
